“ICING ON THE CAKE” IS JUST THE BEGINNING FOR BASKIN-ROBBINS’ 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION IN CANADA

TORONTO, ON. January 19, 2015 – Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, turns 70 this year and is celebrating the significant milestone with a series of special promotions, community events and a rich assortment of new seasonal and monthly flavours.

“Baskin-Robbins’ 70th birthday provides us with the opportunity to honour our heritage and commitment to flavour innovation while celebrating with our loyal guests all year long.”

To kick things off, Baskin-Robbins continues to offer a free waffle cone with the purchase of any double scoop of ice cream and has launched
Icing on the Cake, a cake-flavoured ice cream made with cake pieces, frosting bits and a candy confetti ribbon that can be enjoyed in a cup, cone, milkshake or two-scoop sundae. Inspired by the brand’s fun and innovative personality, Baskin-Robbins will routinely launch ice cream flavours that relate to the month or season. Other examples include:

Peanut Butter ‘N Banana
Banana-flavoured ice cream and a chunky peanut butter ribbon in honour of a member of rock ‘n roll royalty who would be turning 80 this month! Available through March at select participating Baskin-Robbins restaurants.

To add heat or coolness to St. Valentine’s Day (depending on which way you look at it),ice cream lovers will want to try Baskin-Robbins’ Love Potion #31, which features white chocolate flavoured and raspberry ice creams, a raspberry ribbon, chocolate chips, and raspberry-filled chocolate flavoured hearts. Available during the month of February.
