Toronto, July 2, 2015 – July is National Ice Cream Month, according to the International Ice Cream Association, which includes an entire day, Sunday, July 19th that will be dedicated to the popular sweet treat this year. According to the Dairy Farmers of Ontario more ice cream is sold on Sunday than any other day of the week, and Baskin-Robbins Canada is ready to celebrate this very special date and month with their guests.
A celebration wouldn’t be complete without cake and ice cream, and this month customers can enjoy Cookies n’ Cake ice cream as the Flavour of the Month for July, as Baskin-Robbins’ celebrates Canada’s 148th birthday and the return of National Ice Cream Month.
Also in celebration of Canada Day, two uniquely Canadian flavours – BeaverTails® and permanent Baskin-Robbins Canada menu item, Maple Walnut – have been at the heart of a social media rivalry called the Great Canadian Flavour Debate. The competition began in June, and asked ice-cream lovers to vote for their favourite ‘uber-Canadian’ ice cream flavour by using the hashtag #CANFavFlav.
We are proud to announce that the results are in and the Canucks have spoken! The caramel-cinnamon confection flavour with BeaverTails® pastry chunks, has been dubbed the top Canadian flavour!
“We were looking forward to hearing what Canadians had to say about our first-ever flavour partnership with the BeaverTails® brand, and the results are in,” said Natalie Joseph, Field Marketing Manager for Baskin-Robbins. “It couldn’t get any more Canadian than sizing up two of our most Canadian flavours leading up to Canada’s birthday!”
Baskin-Robbins teamed up with the iconic Canadian pastry brand, BeaverTails®, to create an exciting new Flavour of the Month for June, and spark a debate amongst Canadian ice cream lovers leading up to July 1st. The competing flavour in the debate was a permanent Baskin-Robbins’ menu item – Maple Walnut, a blend of pure maple syrup flavoured ice cream with walnut pieces, which has been a long-standing favourite amongst Canadian customers.
The BeaverTails® Flavour of the Month for June is still available at Baskin-Robbins locations across Canada, while quantities last.
Baskin-Robbins celebrates it’s 70th Anniversary this year and will select a feature Flavour of the Month for each month of the year. September is the birthday celebration month for the brand. For more information on any of the products offered by Baskin-Robbins, please visit baskinrobbins.ca.
