Baskin-Robbins opens 100th shop in Canada

Newest location, in Hamilton, symbolizes brand’s renewed momentum in Canada

TORONTO, November 29, 2018 – In the world of Baskin-Robbins, there’s always a reason to celebrate, especially when it means more ice cream and interaction with guests. On November 22nd, the brand celebrated its 100th location in Canada with the opening of its shop at 999 Upper Wentworth St., at Hamilton’s Lime Ridge Mall.

“My fellow Canadians have got the scoop,” says Natalie Joseph, representative for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “Baskin-Robbins is delivering fun and rich flavours, and keeping guests on their toes with flavours and products added to the menu practically every month. It’s refreshing to see from the outside, as well as the inside of the company.”

At 459 sq. ft., the new location is situated above the food court in Lime Ridge Mall, and is owned and operated by Lori and Frank Malavolta. No strangers to the franchise industry, the couple also currently own and operate a Kernels Extraordinary Popcorn shop in the same mall — and have done so successfully for the past 20 years.

“We’re excited to be a part of the Baskin-Robbins family,” says Lori Malavolta, a first time Baskin-Robbins franchise operator.  “We are proud to be operating the brand’s 100th location. The Baskin-Robbins operations team has been a great support to my husband and I, and we look forward in starting this new adventure. “We are born and raised Hamiltonians, very involved in our community, and look forward to proudly serving Baskin-Robbins ice cream. In addition we offer a great fundraising program to our local schools and organizations.”

With over 18 new store development agreements recently announced the brand is on track to continue its growth in the Canadian market.
