Baskin-Robbins Canada introduces oatmilk-based Flavour of the Month, Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel, and Floral Cone Bouquet Cake

TORONTO, April 28, 2021 – Baskin-Robbins Canada introduces, May 1, its newest plant-based frozen dessert option, Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel. Flavour of the Month for May, Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel features sumptuous streusel pieces and cinnamon-y granola that are complemented by a tart strawberry ribbon. This is the first time Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, introduces an oatmilk-based frozen dessert to its lineup of more than 1,300 flavours.

“We’ve been working very hard to find the best possible plant-based options,” says Natalie Joseph, spokesperson for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “Offering a wide diversity of flavours has been an important part of our DNA for the past 75 years – 50 in Canada – since we started selling ice cream. I’m sure this new flavour will have many customers swirling in delight thanks to its fruity, fresh and creamy taste.”

The introduction of this new flavour follows the successful pilot of Chocolate Extreme, the first non-dairy frozen dessert option launched by Baskin-Robbins Canada in May 2020. Chocolate Extreme was made with an almond base. The frozen dessert sold out in just under three months.

Also this May, Baskin-Robbins introduces a new Floral Cone Bouquet Cake. Featuring an edible bouquet of flowers, assortment of colours and pearl-beaded contour, the new cake, though frozen, was made to melt the heart of mothers with an ardent sweet tooth. Like all of Baskin-Robbins’ cake options, it can be customized with the flavours and cake base of your choice for a very evocative and personalized Mother’s Day treat.

The vast majority of Baskin-Robbins shops across Canada remain open, increasingly with delivery options. For information, generally or on your local shop, visit baskinrobbins.ca or follow the brand on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
