Baskin-Robbins returns to play Cupid once more this Valentine’s Day

World’s leading ice cream brand sets out to help Canadians pull on heartstrings with ‘card cakes’ and perennial favourite, Love Potion #31

Toronto, January 29, 2020 – Baskin-Robbins, a brand that is focused on sensory pleasures and lots of good, clean – and often delicious – fun, is back this year with another romantic treat for Valentine’s Day. On February 1 the world’s leading ice cream brand brings back its famous Love Potion #31, a perennial favourite for Valentine’s Day, and introduces Valentine’s Day Card Cakes – delicious cakes that can feature edible greeting cards.

The company’s 1995 classic flavour makes a return with their new Valentine’s Day Card Cake for February.

“For most of us, Valentine’s Day absolutely calls for a delicious culinary experience,” says Natalie Joseph, spokesperson for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “The sharing, the flavours and the affectionate nature of ice cream just makes it a perfect complement to your Valentine’s Day plans. The introduction of card cakes only adds an additional layer of personalization that customers will love. Now guests can say it all with their very own ice cream cake.”

Available from February 1 to 14, the Baskin-Robbins Valentine’s Day Card Cakes are designed with exclusive Baskin-Robbins artwork using new PhotoCake® Edible Image technology. Guests can customize any ice cream cake with a message all of their own, meaningful for them or, if they suffer from writer’s block, can choose from one of three pre-written messages — “Darling, you take the cake”, “Do me a flavour? Be My Valentine!” or “You’re the sprinkles on my ice cream”.

“There’s no limit to the personalization,” says Joseph. “The quality of the cake and ice cream are set, but the creativity and execution are all yours. Guests can pick their partner’s favourite ice cream and cake flavour combination, as well as a greeting card that is just as edible and flavourful as the cake itself.”

First introduced in 1995, Love Potion #31 returns as the February Flavour of the Month. The popular flavour includes white chocolate and raspberry flavoured ice creams, a raspberry swirl, chocolate flavoured chips and raspberry-filled chocolate flavoured hearts.
